took a day's leave today.. went out with yiyang to shop.. if it sounds strange, then it really is not haha.. went to SLS to buy some media player.

Actually i had in mind what to buy before we went, but it's still unbelievable when i saw what he's holding in his hands when yiyang demonstrated his PMP's functions. so amazing that i had this compulsion to buy the exact same thing he had l0l. then as we walked up & down SLS i realised again how there're so many indian and chinese ppl doing sales over there. haha maybe they more experienced with electronics stuff.. or isit the image that they seem more professional in those areas? haha whatever. but many of them are quite friendly i observed. This PMP is also from China~~

Yep u are not too tired or slpy or whatever, it reads "12-in-1 Multi-functions". The brand is BRICA, i havent heard of it until today lol. comes with a complementary 2GB SD Card. internal memory of 512MB.

Some of its features~~
-MP3 player
-DV
-FM radio
-movie playback
-digital still camera
-webcam
-voice recording
-video/tv recording
-slideshow playback
-calendar
-games (some lame ones)
-e_book

Unbelievable? Believe it. =P

Was almost out the whole of yesterday.

First was japanese lesson at Bunka! haha first lesson there, alot of hiccups along the way, but i managed to find the right class to join. Our sensei is Mr Gima, not a female teacher i had initially hoped for, but i immediately changed that opinion. Funny guy, he like to tease us and ask ppl to dance or sing for the class l0l... but he teaches quite well also, goes through every japanese phrase himself before he repeats tgt with us again. should be a nice class i think! hahaha

then swooped down to katong to meet up with my pri sch friends for karaoke. Its called Teo Heng Karaoke if i'm not mistaken, and the price is v cheap i think. yolky, kaiguan, huiying and libin was already there, and seriously most of us havent changed one bit. hahaha. then cheng hyork kaiguan were there spamming all the steph sun/fish leung/SHE combo lol, while those free were flipping thru our autograph books we started b4 we graduated from school. man so funny! and brings back alot of our memories, stupid one, happy and unhappy ones, all written in those "fancifully-decorated" books. Some pages were even stapled and glued together, so that the "dirty secrets" wont leak out. LOL!! On a side note, though all the quotes that we wrote down we may have mostly forgotten, the friends that left their signatures down we might have not remembered how they looked like, but definitely these bits and pieces that remained in the books are a testament to our lives we spent in pri sch.

then met up with more ppl at PP. jenpeng, amy and even zhaorong! haha rare rare person that we've not seen in quite a while. ate at pastmania, while we laughed even more at our childishness and eccentricities we did during pri sch. haha i can't say too much here, so as to protect the image of the ppl involved. Too bad we couldnt get more ppl to come, but someday we'll organise another k-session again! stay tuned!

and kaiguan! photos!

Just woke up from a deep slumber.. strangely i didnt dream abt anything.
just came back 4E1 bbq+camping... as it turned out we didnt have 20 ppl coming, but we did spot some unexpected faces, like jiamin & felicia & even zhencong =P. that in itself was encouraging enough, cos when i reach there only brandon & jiayun were there & i thought only the organisers were coming.

in e end, we end up having to brave e rains and set up the 2 tents face to face so we could move ard them easier... omg that was ingenious!! & thiam aik was even thinking of doing 2 rds of rope ard e trees and hang all our umbrellas up there, which we didnt cos brandon didnt bring his coms cord lolx. seriously the idea of the year! & that was not before we ate most of e food, all gd except for the stupid pork chop. & of cos it was fun to:

see zhencong go ard promoting his SANA donation tix to ppl
see me go ard asking: 'who wans 1st-row tix to the Silver Surfer'
listen to elin talking brainlessly abt army stuff
tell jiaying how nice my tent is =P
see a cute malay kid walk ard wearing a firefighter's suit, & with the helmet somemore
daze @ the patrol cars that crawl past us everytime
talk abt the sea so often (海在那边而已, 去跳啦)
endure jasmine's brainless chanting n shouting in e tents
singing frm sch songs to NDP songs

and then alot of catching up, gossip, army stuff, uni stuff and our class stuff. just when i felt so detached frm d rest, feeling that perhaps there werent so many common experiences btw me & them. maybe it was just me feeling emo haha. but it's still a fantastic way to be tugged in the comfort (heat incl.) of the tent and talking abt things that are ard us n everyone else. sth closer to heart. $10 for the day, but the stay was priceless. seriously we shld consider holding a chalet @ end of year, when more ppl are free.

and seriously, that's the cutest chameleon i could find. I wan photos of yesterday!!

Minnasan, this way to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple plz. Tourists pls follow me closely, the area here in South Bridge Road is quite crowded. =D Because this new landmark in Chinatown just opened its doors to the public on thursday, we can expect thronging crowds.

Beware of the steps to the entrance, they're quite high. This temple is dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha. The temple is 5 storeys high, and has 2 basement floors. The main hall in here is 27 feet high, and the architectural design is inspired by the Tang Dynasty. In the first storey, u can get a glimpse of the various Buddha statues, including the wodden Maitreya Buddha image.

On the 2nd floor, u can see a gallery that exhibits pictures of religious interest. They include footage of the sacred locations where Sakyamuni Buddha, known previously as Siddhartha Gotama sat musing under the Bodhi Tree; of those where he was preaching his disciples; and relics of the old Tooth Relic Temple. Inspiring images i must say. Seriously.

Now we're on the 3rd storey. Lucky for us, this newly built temple is air-conditioned. Here we will take a trip down memory lane, learn about the beginnings of Buddhism. It originated from the enlightenment of Siddhartha Gotama, a prince in ancient India, who was later known as the Sakyamuni Buddha. This gallery, punctuated with captions on the walls and buddha statues, speaks of the journey he took towards his enlightenment, and the various temptations he had to face. Some of his teachings are also visible in the captions.

Next we walk up to lvl 4: the sacred Tooth Relic Tower, where it houses the tooth relic.

*Sidenote: this part was real cute lah, my mom and i and my sis were give plastic bags when we reach 4th level. Then me and my mother saw the staff pushing a trolley of vermicelli (spell-check?) around. so we thought the ppl so gd, give us bags to bring home the bee hoon! then later we found out that the bags are for us to put our shoes in, cos no footwear were allowed. LOL.

On to the rooftop, you can enjoy the scenery dotted with the Dendrobium Buddha Tooth, an orchid species named after the tooth relic.

My knowledge of Buddhism is Pte Ltd, sorry for any misinformation that was interpreted above. But it was a truly inspirational trip into the temple!

yeah 2 posts in first day.. not bad for a blog no0b rite? Anyways, woke up early, 7+ !!! long time nvr do this feat liao, but felt so drained out after a while lolx.

But today's still a great day! haha, went to collect my PS2 at eunos mrt later in afternoon. The seller nt bad huh, even give me his address for insurance sake. and the set comes modded with a controller, memory card, controller gun, and best of all, 50+ games!! I didnt tink i could get such a gd bargain for oni 170 bucks lor, and its my first time buying things online! hehe, i tink its cuz the guy wanted to save up for a PS3 bah, but the set is still dirt cheap lar. this must be karma, must be it :P

After that went swimming wid family. walao the lockers at tampines CMI one. looks advanced, cuz no nid key one, but after i set my pw i cant close the locker, then i started cursing. i also nt sure if i was cursing the locker or myself. LOLX. then the pools, notice it comes with an 'S', were all filled with dead flies and moths. Argghhh. Whats that supposed to mean? are the pools meant for stupid insects to swim or me? i feel so inferior to the insects la, so i surrendered and came up early. LOLx

The swim ended with a trip to Nihon Mura, a japanese restaurant juz beside the complex. Juz take note nvr to say or type 'jap'; try japanese cos the japanese feel offended if they were called 'japs'. anyways it was 99cents per plate for sushi! its cheap. and fairly nice haha

Today is a gd day! but i feel so penniless now :(
