Finally i watched this. it's very gd!!! and most importantly it's cos i downloaded the english subs wid the movie or i'd have never understood any of the french, hehe..
It's about this little girl named Amelie Poulain who lived in Montmartre, played by Audrey Tautou. she spent over her childhood and youth living in isolation and loneliness. amelie found fun and consolation in little things and pranks that she plays. the part abt her childhood was to bring out her aloofness i guess, but it was so freakingly funny that u'll really laugh out loud!!.....and then as she grew into a waitress, she one day discovered the simple beauty of helping ppl anonymously, and starts to be the do-gooder, helping everyone ard her. and in the process she found her true love and opened her heart to the world outside.
It's a lighthearted film, but dont be put off by it just because its that and in french. what was supposedly a simple, plain and sometimes sad movie, was unexpectedly livened up with very colourful settings and downright funny nitty-gritty details abt the characters that even most of us do everyday, but forgot to stop and realise it. i was trying to come up with sth more sophisticated to write abt this movie, but then i realised the spirit of Amelie from Montmartre was really the beauty of simple things that happen in life. and that ppl shld really do gd because u nvr know when these small things we do can make another person's day. Oh and i think the french race is really hopelessly romantic. plus Audrey Tautou is so charismatic!! i would die to look into her eyes and face everyday. Just livens up your day! U shld go find a way to watch this movie.
Rmbr to slow down and smell the roses...=D
